Before our eyes, a kind of mise-en-scène, a segment of a tableau, where the characters interact with objects, apparently out of context, like magic scenery, and with a play of light and shadows that give it a very singular atmosphere.
Or perhaps it is the illustration of a literary classic within the so-called "magical realism". That sensation, at first sight, that the spectator has when confronted with the work of the young creator: Enrique Alfonso Rodríguez. Bordering on the canons of surrealism, he invites us to travel along with him, to that infinite imaginary of creative thought where the human being is the centre of each of his works.
Characters or actors, always arranged in the foreground, with daring foreshortenings, dressed in costumes or disguises and hairstyles of indefinite design. The hands combine harmoniously with the facial expression the most astonishing details, without being by far a hyperrealist work.
None of his works can go unnoticed. More than sadness, his characters transmit deep reflection, and that is precisely his invitation to the spectator, so that each one of us can make our own history of what happens on the canvas.
