My name is Jimena Mercedes Pesado.
I was born in Buenos Aires Argentina.
I am an emerging artist passionate about pictorial and musical art.
My artistic facet began as a singer at a very early age. In 2002 I emigrated to Madrid, Spain, with my partner and young son. There I worked as a singer in orchestras, a very enriching experience both personally and artistically.
Years later, back in Buenos Aires, I suffered a strong personal crisis. It was in that moment of chaos that I felt the need to express myself through painting, always accompanied by my other passions, music and singing.
In 2015 I began to study with great masters such as Luis Alvarez who trained me academically in colour theory, perspective, drawing and the human body.
Later I discovered the great artist Paula Rivero, she gave me the necessary tools to detach myself from the photographic reference and introduce me to figurative abstraction.
ART STATEMENT
The work of Jimena Mercedes stands out in figurative abstraction.
Her creative process is based on the deconstruction of the stain and the energetic drawing of lines.
She works with acrylic applying glazes, transparencies and textures. These techniques play and interact giving movement to his works and allowing the appearance of organic forms, which transmit and create a story on the canvas.
I invite you to immerse yourself in my fantasy world, which I intend to transmit as an artist.
