Profile
My name is Claudia Toledano. I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on April 4th, 196...... I have been into arts since I was very young: both plastic arts and music.
I studied Music in the School of Music and Theatre in Buenos Aires. At the age of 12, I started teaching rhythmic lessons, and I was in charge of 30 students then.
Later I would eagerly focus on pictorial arts. Painting is my great vocation, my real passion. I have always been a self-taught learner, going through all the techniques: oils, watercolors, temperas, pastels, charcoal and acrylic. I have kept experimenting without stopping and learning from day-to-day practice.
In 1981 I emigrated from my home country, Argentina. Life led me to go overseas at a time when Argentina was not good for artists. So I moved to Spain and I was living in Zaragoza for two years. In 1983 I turned to the clear light, luminous white villages of Serrat, and I settled down in Costa Del Sol, Andalusia. Marbella gave me the opportunity to live for a while on my art, selling watercolors to tourists who wanted to take a bit of light in my paintings, which embodied the customs, construction and sunshine of Andalusia.
Many years later I found new ways. However, I have never given up art. In 1996 I started a new adventure that made me travel between Spain and Portugal for several years.
After a serious illness, I decided to resume my vocation for painting and all my artistic creativity has flown in a spontaneous and constant way ever since. It is as if I wanted to capture all my feelings immediately in my paintings.( I do not spare a single minute or waste a moment.
Currently, I split my stays among Spain, Portugal and Argentina, always trying to choose summer seasons.
At present, I am living in Carhué, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It is a small town that that warmly hosts me and gives me wings to paint.
I share my time between my workshop in Carhue, whose peacefulness and tranquility inspires me not to stop painting. My meetings with great Carhuenses artists who have welcomed me with great cordiality, painters from other parts of the world, and my trips where I go back to load energies to continue creating, always help me to keep on learning and grow professionally.
Since February 15, 2014 I have been the Director of “La Dama Espacio Multicultural”, an iconic multicultural space Mansion dating from 1900, which is located in the city of Carhué.
In March 2015 I set up my workshop to begin teaching, with the great satisfaction of reaching great success in the activity.
