César Augusto Lalla was born in Mercedes Bs As, on August 15, 1961. Since he was a child, he has shown a predilection for painting that led him to explore art from a young age, pursuing higher education at the Prilidiano Pueyrredón School in CABA.
During his stay in Buenos Aires, he frequented the ateliers of prominent painters of the time such as Antonio Berni and Felipe Noe. He lived in the La Boca neighborhood where he was nourished by the painting of the neighborhood's masters, meeting several artists.
In the 80s, while studying plastic arts at Pueyrredón, he participated in the cultural movement at the return of democracy with the Siluetazo. He began to participate by sending work to different painting salons, achieving recognition such as winning first prize, twice, in the Painting Salon of the Bar Association of the Judicial Department of Mercedes; several times winner of the first prize at the Annual Ciudad de Mercedes Painting Salon; He also participated as a jury in both salons and received distinctions in salons in the region such as San Andrés de Giles; the Tango hall in Luján and others.
Promoter of local projects of artistic intervention in public roads such as the murals of Octimio Landi; projects for the collective creation of floats in the Mercedinos Carnivals together with the Mercedes Culture Directorate and Unit 5 of the Buenos Aires Penitentiary Service; He also promoted the collective grouping of Mercedino plastic artists in the Association of Mercedino Artists.
His latest pictorial exhibitions are: 2023, “On the side of oblivion” at the Mercedes Municipal Art Museum, MAMM. In 2019, he held the exhibition “Two worlds” at the Mercedes Bar Association together with the Mercedes artist Marcela Cueto, an exhibition that was replicated months later at the Ministry of Culture of the Municipality of San Andrés de Giles.
The theme of the work explores stain and colors, with themes that have revolved around landscape, cycling, portraits, bandoneons and thistles. His work is exhibited in various cultural and gastronomic spaces in Mercedes and the area.
