Profile

Angela León's work is centred on her beginnings in painting and particularly in engraving, with direct allusions to themes such as race or negritude (as a process of transculturation); but I find particularly interesting the approach, in her latest exhibitions, to digital art.

Now, with a strong influence of POP art and abstraction, he juxtaposes again and again patterns or stereotypes very much of his context with others of a more universal character.

In a century where the discourses of centre and periphery blend together, the boundaries are imperceptible.

On the other hand, for this artist, colour and gesture drive and agglutinate her (dissimilar) expressive and conceptual motivations; becoming the protagonists of her work.
